Review the following PowerPoint. At the end of the PowerPoint you are given 5 examples. The summary for the first one is on the last page of the PowerPoint. Reviewing this example would be a good place to start so that you can clearly see which information was included in the summary.

Assignment Part One:
Pick a nursery rhyme from the ones given at the end of the PowerPoint. You can't use the first one because the answers to that one are provided on the last page. Write a summary for the one you have chosen.

Assignment Part Two:
This task is similar to the one you completed for Part One, but because the article you read was MUCH longer than the nursery rhymes that you read you summary will also be MUCH longer. Remember that in order to provide a summary you need to mention all of the important details. Think about it this way...pretend you are trying to explain the article to someone who has never read it. What things would be important for you to share with them?
