On one had summer school might seem like a bad thing. After all...I'm sure you'd love to be sleeping in, out with your friends or doing something else you enjoy! On the other hand this is an AMAZING opportunity for you! You have the chance to earn a credit in 19 days!! In order to be successful, however, you need to keep some things in mind:
1. Read the task completely so you don't miss anything! Some questions will require you to EXPLAIN your response. If you don't take the time to explain your response you won't earn full credit for the task.
2. Some tasks don't require you to complete an assignment, but you do need to be prepared to discuss the materials. Make sure that you have taken the time to reflect on the materials so that you have meaningful things to offer to the conversation.
3. TAKE YOUR TIME! Do not rush through assignments. Make sure that you've used complete sentences and have included capitalization and punctuation! You are on your way to high school and it is important for you to be able to express your thoughts clearly. Without capitalization and punctuation your writing with be hard to make sense of.
4. If you have emailed me a completed assignment and I've provided you feedback make sure you are taking the time to make the corrections and re-submit the task in order to receive full credit!
5. There will always be tasks posted. If you complete a task move on to the next one. You don't want work to pile up. You should have something to do each day and if you find that you have nothing to do please reach out to me. I will be happy to provide you with the next task.
6. Remember that this is YOUR course! GLE is all about you! I am always available via email if you have any questions or if you need more information. If you are having other people assist you with the course you will be missing out on a valuable experience!
